El Puente de Sanabria is a young village in the region of Sanabria whose name is due to the of 18th century bridge crossing on the river Tera.
The existence of a weekly street market held every Monday - a real shopping center in the area and in which transactions of all kinds are made - makes this town an important meeting point for a large number of people in the surrounding area.
The highlights in this village are: Santuario de Nuestra Señora (the Sanctuary of Our Lady), a humble chapel located on the banks of the river Tera, and a beautiful calvary with the traditional images of the Crucified and the Virgin.
